koh Pahangan is located in the south eastern Thailand in Surat province .the name called Pangan means “island of the white sand”The island cover an area of the approximate 125 km² and is located about 15 km north of koh Samui and 35 km south east of Koh Tao
The island can only be reached by sea ,most transportation on the island is by motorbike .Koh Phangan is famous for its full moon parties, which take place one a month around the time of the full moon, the island mainly attracts backpackers and the young travelers.
there are three main ways to Kho Phangan:
- Flight to Ko Samui followed by a ferry to 3000-6000 Bhat approximately 4 to 6 hours.
- bus or train to Surat Thani, follwed by a ferry to Koh Phangan 12-16 hours , 900-1800 Bhat.
- Flight to Surat Thani follwed by ferry to Kho Phangan 1500-3000 Bhat 6-9 hours.
Koh Phangan has many beautiful beaches ,each with its own atmosphere .Haad Rin is the most famous beach in is known for the full moon party . Thong Nai Pan Noi and Thong Nai Pan Yai are quieter beaches with beautiful scenery and Clearwater .Haad Salad and Haad Yao are also popular with travelers looking for a relaxing beach experience.
